Primates of Indonesia

Wanna to know more about Siamang, Orangutan, or Macaques?

This is the right video for you:

Toward the end of the video, the narrator mentioned about how deforestation and medical research are proven to be harmful to these wonderful creatures... what should we do to protect them?

Stop deforestation could be one way, besides its effect of greenhouse gases emission and global warming, to stop deforestation could mean to conserved wildlife. The best if we can do reforestation. Salute goes to to Indonesia's Ministry of Environment for its reforestation program.... Thanks Mr. Witoelar (Indonesian Minister for Environment and the current chairperson of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) for the initiative.

I wish I can do something more than to spread the awareness...

Subject: Blood Donors Urgently needed

A Tanglin family have dear friends who are in Singapore in the dilemma described below. Their daughter is at present in National University Hospital and in urgent need of blood. If there are any B negative blood people out there who can help…. I'm sure it would be much appreciated.

Janice Murani
Lead Nurse

Craig and Kate McLean's beautiful daughter Molly is 18 months old and has been struck with a life-threatening virus which is attacking and depleting her platelets. She urgently needs B negative blood. Please circulate this email as far and as widely as you can and hopefully someone out there will be able to help. There is currently 1 unit of b-neg blood in the blood bank and she needs at least 3 units.

If you are, or know anyone who is or might be, B negative, PLEASE ask them to go to Health Sciences Authority, 11 Outram Road, opposite the MRT as soon as possible. The telephone number of the blood donor centre is 62130622. The system will take care of the rest, the vital thing is to get the blood into the blood bank.
Thank you.

--> There seems like a lot of Indonesian womens and mixed doubles pairs in world top 100, but when we look carefully there are a lot of repeating players, meaning they play with more than one partners. Should PBSI stick with particular pairs and sent them to tournament frequently rather than mixed up the pairs.
--> We need more fresh blood in order to keep pace with other country like China or Malaysia. Even now Singapore and Chinese Taipei , which is not a traditional badminton country, has catch up. More young players need to be sent to International Future Series / Grand Prix.
--> More money/funding/sponsorship will be needed to facilitate above mentioned point.
--> Don't let our player run to other country. Sometimes I'll feel proud when they won a tournament, but on the other hand I also feel sad, thinking of, if only they play for Indonesia.
--> Get a good coach, I'm really disappointed to see Rexy Mainaky, Indonesia's Olympic Gold Medalist, coaches Malaysia and produce so many good mens doubles pairs.
--> Tony Gunawan, Please come home....!

A Little Step toward better environment (1)

Taken from: The Green Book-The Everyday Guide to Saving the Planet, One Simple Step at a Time by Elizabeth Rogers and Thomas M. Kostigen.

Dont ask for ATM receipts
if everyone in US refused their receipts, it would save a roll of paper more than two billion feet long, or enough to circle the equator fifteen times

Try to flush just one less time per day
You'll save about 4.5 gallons of water-as much water as the average person in Africa uses for a whole day of drinking, cooking, bathing, and cleaning.

Take a shorter shower
Every two minutes save on your shower can conserve more than ten gallons of water

Books
Use the library or buy secondhand books. Consider sharing the ones you have with friends or donating them rather than throwing them away. About three billion new books are sold per year, requiring four hundred thousand tress to be chopped down
